MEETING WITH THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL FOR HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONALS AND HEALTH, DR. JOHN LEONARDI
Dear Colleagues,
With this we wanted to inform you that on December 1, 2009, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health held a meeting, most important, the General Manager of Human Resources and Health Professions, Dr. Giovanni Leonardi, asking the Ministry to be counted among the stakeholders representing the category of Physical Education. The meeting was attended by Dr.. Alex Falconer, Chairman of the Italian Federation of Physiotherapy, which is all our thanks for having accelerated the of receipt and Dr. Mariadolores Novati, President of the Italian osteopaths.
The topics with the Director Leonardi and his collaborator, Dr.. Achille Iachino, were manifold. First of all, it was confirmed that the graduate in Physical Education must operate in different fields, although collaborative, from the physical therapist to create, where necessary, job opportunities in the health sector but only and exclusively to the powers conferred by the university course training. It was also made available to contribute technically and to support the bill to be proposed for the regulation of professional degree in physical education (for us a great PASSO AVANTI).
A questo proposito, vorrei sottolineare di quanto è stato fatto sino ad ora, per il laureato in scienze motorie, dalla PASSI, pur consapevoli che il progetto finale non è stato ancora realizzato. Tramite la nostra associazione si è cominciato ad attribuire un’immagine di serietà e di credibilità del professionista delle scienze motorie necessaria a raggiungere lo scopo, diversa da quella lasciata dalle altre associazioni esistenti sul nostro territorio nazionale.
Abbiamo chiesto, al direttore Leonardi, se in Italia esistono associazioni di osteopati riconosciuti dal Ministero della Salute.
